What’s in YOUR Bag?
I know its here somewhere.
When’s the last time you took inventory of the contents of your bag? -It’s okay, its just you and me. Tell me, can you reach into its depths right now and retrieve what you need on the fly or will you pull-out all sorts of Mary Poppins crazy while you search for that “I-know-it’s-in-here-somewhere”? Use this cute little pack-rat intervention as an excuse to get organized or simply as validation that we’re secretly more alike than we realize. After all, much like me, Mary Poppins did have a tape measure in that bag…
Whether we are Type A, or throw caution to the wind with some good old fashion “organized chaos”, we all have our essentials and perhaps a little of ‘Now how did that get in there’? Let’s take a closer look at some of the Communications Team members shoulder bags, shall we?
EXHIBIT A
For some, specifically commuter bicyclists, packing lightly is a MUST. So figure out what YOUR can’t-live-withouts are and keep it minimal. For our dear friend Jim, he needs to be hands free while he treks to and from the office. He keeps it simple with his bare essentials: Phone, Wallet, keys and lip balm. Nestle these in with his chic sunglasses, sunscreen and headphones and his trendy pack is complete!
Keep making the world a greener place commuters -and don’t forget your helmet!
EXHIBIT B
Ever been on a site visit and realized you left something at the office? -Of course you haven’t! You’re super organized. Take Brittany for example, she knows what she needs to have a successful day.
Brittany says…
“-I like to be selective when preparing for a trade show trip. Since I’m on my feet all day it’s important to have a light load, durable bag, snacks and a full supply of H20. Floor plans, finish samples and a tape measure are crucial for selecting furniture or art. Hand sanitizer is always a must with crowds”
A little daily routine and planning your day ahead can spare you the headaches, keep you productive and sane. Way to be on top of things Brittany!
EXHIBIT C
Lastly, some of us are mommies and daddies which means that with more responsibility comes more daily necessities! During work hours Amanda may be able to get away with just some personals like: An umbrella, mini lotion bottle, a pocket sized datebook (“yes I still like writing things down”) a sketchbook & pens, a Larabar (- “for when gluten free options aren't available”) and a small makeup bag for emergency touch-ups.
After work and on weekends however, more things have become an essential part of her daily routine…
-Diapers, wipes and changing pad? -Check.
-Extra binky? -Check.
-Sunglasses for both of the little ones? -Check & Check.
(Not pictured: Snacks for the kids, H20, and all the crumbs from keeping said snacks in the bag.)”
Wow! Don’t trip over your capes Moms and Dads!
